My way into computer science have been long; I’ve had computer science as my hobby since 1984 when I got my first Sinclair Spectrum, and I started programming a year later on my Amstrad CPC 464. I’ve now managed to finish a PhD while working full-time and a BSc in just under 8 years! Before starting studying Computer Science as a mature student, I served my beloved country Denmark for a year, studied economics for 2 years, worked as a salesman selling tools to the furniture industry and the recruitment industry in Denmark in total for more than 7 years and 2 years as a logistic manager in a publishing house before finding my true calling in Computer Science!

Hi!
I came across your tutorial when I was browsing for interesting introductory Android app development blogs. I see that you have some experience teaching. I work for an independent tech publisher in San Francisco, and we’re interested in putting out books on Android, since it’s such a rapidly growing field. As an instructor, do you see a need for any particular books on Android or mobile app development? Have you considered writing a book yourself?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Best,
Sondra Schreibman
Hi Sandra, I’ll answer this one by email.
Hi Karsten, I’m a making my first steps as an indie game developer, and I’m looking to integrate some social features in my game. I’m trying to understand what’s Scoreloop biz. model, when it comes to developers? What is the fee they require? do they only work on rev. share of virtual currency? As someone who has extensive experience with them, can you comment on my questions? Thanks!
Hi Jacob
Scoreloop’s business model is based on in-game sales, they are free to use for developers. I can only recommend them.
The only concern is that they recently were bought up by RIM, and there haven’t been any news regarding future road plan since then…
Thank you very much for the reply. Your concern is valid, but I don’t believe they’ll abandon their current OSs. Can you reply to my mail directly, I’d to understand some more info about the rev. share and a few other questions
Thanks!
